The Cocktail
Ingredients
- 2 ounces La Caza Anejo tequila
- .25 ounce spiced cherry demerara syrup
- 2 dash angostura bitters
- Big rock
- Garnish: maraschino cherry
Directions
- Combine all the ingredients in a mixing glass and fill with ice, making sure the ice is above the liquid line.
- Stir for 20-30 seconds. Strain and serve over a large rock ice cube.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
Spiced Cherry Syrup
Ingredients
- 16 oz of 100% not from concentrate cherry juice
- 1 cup turbinado sugar
- A handful of a spice blend; you can also use cinnamon sticks, star anise, whole cloves, and allspice.
Directions
- Add cherry juice and spices to a pot and simmer until the juice is at 50% or 8oz [preferably use a pan with measurements].
- Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
- Strain the spices out and store them in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Pro Tip: Add an ounce or two of vodka to make the syrup last longer.
